Philosophy of maintaining Central Park.

How to approach the Central Park of Tartu?
We, the Election Coalition For Tartu, believe that Central Park needs to be repurposed so that it is not just a place to go through, but the park must remain a park. We believe that today - and in the future - greenery is very important in the heart of the city, it must be preserved, life must be brought to the park and people must be brought to the park through activities.

TREES vs. A LARGE HOUSE

That is really the choice. When planning a large house in Central Park, the park must be partially lost, and the trees must be taken down.

SOLUTION

The trees remain. The greenery is completely preserved. There will be even more of it in a thoughtful way. People come and have a good time in the park. Children, their parents, grandparents ... Everyone is satisfied and happy.

Should the central park be preserved or built up?

Should the Central Park be maintained or built up?

Philosophy of building up Central Park.

How to approach the Central Park of Tartu?
The Reform Party and the Social Democratic Party believe that by partially building up Central Park, they will bring more activities to the city center and thus make the city center more attractive. They think that with good architecture it is possible to find an effective harmony between nature and a big house.

GENERAL PLAN vs. PUBLIC OPINION

The current general plan of Tartu allows for the building up of almost 50 percent of Central Park by removing trees from there. In the city council, whose competence includes approval of the general plan, the majority belongs to the ruling coalition of the Reform Party and the Social Democratic Party.

THE SOLUTION OF THE BUILDERS

By building a large house in Central Park, this will provide an opportunity to solve the space problem of the Tartu City Library and Art Museum. In the city center, however, there are alternatives to the location of the Tartu City Library and Art Museum, which should be strongly considered.
